About CT-ALIVE

The Connecticut Alliance for Victims of Violence & Their Families Inc. (CT-ALIVE) is a Connecticut non-profit, tax-exempt organization established in May of 2002 by a group of survivors of homicide who wanted to help other survivors heal after the horrific trauma they had experienced.

CT-ALIVE’s mission is to empower victims and their families to heal after experiencing the trauma of violence and abuse by providing support, advocacy and education.

Success StoriesJenny the Running Thriver

For Jenny, there are no limits to what a woman can accomplish after abuse. A survivor of an abusive relationship suffering from PTSD, Jenny rebuilt her life through running. After attending Susan Omilian’s My Avenging Angel Workshop™, Jenny decided to do SOMETHING to support other survivors of abuse and help fight the stigma. So, she decided to share her story and chronicle her journey from Survivor to Thriver. Hence The Running Thriver was born.

Jenny’s mission is to provide proof that regardless of what a person has endured in life, it is never to late to become the person you desire to be.
